Today, we’re putting the spotlight on our good friend who needs no introduction; Goldi (@Lfgoldi) - a passionate Web3 enthusiast with a knack for community building and a love for blockchain technology.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
My journey into crypto began with a serendipitous investment, followed by diving into NFTs just for fun. What started as a casual interest during the Covid-19 lockdown has since evolved into a deep commitment to the Web3 space, fueled by friendships, networking opportunities, and hosting events that keep me engaged. Balancing the challenge of finding the right financial advice with the excitement of community involvement, I emphasize the importance of a growth mindset and surrounding myself with positive, supportive people. Being active in projects like Arc, Memeland, Pudgy Penguins, Azuki, Bitcoin Frogs, and more, I remain optimistic about the long-term vision of these communities, blending my belief in the technology with a genuine appreciation for the people involved.
How and when did you first come across crypto?
I first made a small profit from buying crypto. After that, I got interested in NFTs when a friend from a car club told me about flipping them to buy a Hermès bag. Internet magic $? Sure, count me in. Bored during the Covid-19 lockdown, I joined some Discord servers to learn more about Web3. Since then, I’ve been drawn to the allure of community building and blockchain technology. A few times, I’ve considered selling everything to gain some inner peace and sanity amidst my busy schedule, but the friendships, fun events, and networking opportunities always pull me back in. Let’s see if I’ll be out by 2025! I’m here for a good time—and maybe a long time too!
What was the greatest obstacle for you when getting into crypto?
The biggest obstacle for me was finding the right financial advice, or FA as it’s known in the space. Crypto can feel overwhelming when you’re new, and there’s so much noise out there, especially on Twitter. With the varied opinions and strategies, it can be confusing to decipher who to listen to. My friends here in Wush love Dior, but in Web3, we do a lot of DYOR. Ultimately, embracing mistakes, enjoying the trial-and-error process, and being confident in my own choices helped me. Three things keep me going: a growth mindset, knowing my friends have my back, and joining positive, supportive communities.
What is in your bag, and what keeps you holding on to it?
There are some assets I hold on to steadfastly because I genuinely like the community. I’m also leading some communities, am part of the council, and have organized events too. Through these experiences, I’ve built genuine friendships with people I care about. Sometimes, critics laugh at others for holding PFPs to zero, but does it always matter? For the assets I’m still holding, it’s more than just the potential profit—it’s the connections, the shared experiences, and the belief in the projects themselves. Sometimes it feels like blind faith, but hey, love is blind, right? I hold on because I believe in the long-term vision, the distinctive tech, and the community. Sometimes, I just really appreciate the team and the community behind it. For now, I’m still in love and hodling on to a few projects, including Arc, Memeland, Pudgy Penguins, Azuki, Pixelmon, Kaiju Kingz, Bitcoin Frogs, BBRC, and Kasagi.
Any tips for folks considering getting into crypto as traders or investors?
My advice for anyone new to crypto would be to remember that sometimes you’ve got to zoom out and take a long-term perspective. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day fluctuations, but the bigger picture matters more. At the same time, there are moments when you need to react quickly and make decisions in real-time. There’s no right or wrong approach—what works for you might not work for someone else. There’s no need to compare yourself to others on Twitter. This isn’t a competition. Just remember that the market can move faster or slower than you expect. And if things go wrong, don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself and make a meme out of it! Humor helps in this space. Oh, and a big one: make sure you sell at the right time before the next bear market hits. Timing can be everything! Take it easy, stay true to yourself, and just have fun!
